This third book in the Friends of Jesus series is a collection of stories about courageous and holy men and women - from all over the world and from different Christian Churches - who have lived during the last 100 years and up to today. It includes stories of people like Helder Camara, Martin Luther King, Osca Romero, Mother Teresa, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and many other great Christians who have served as role models for today's society.
The book is intended for children from eight to thirteen to read or have read to them. It contains a variety of activities to capture the interest and imagination of children of all ages
It offers:
ideas to investigate,
feelings to explore,
suggestions for prayer,
scripture to reflect on,
for home, school or parish. At home it will provide an opportunity to encourage children to understand how following Jesus is part of our life. In school it could be a useful companion to the Religious Education programme and a resource for collective worship.
